Data we collect
- Account data — email address and password hash (used to sign you in and grant access).
- Billing data — name, billing address, and payment details collected and held by Paddle (we never see full card numbers).
- Usage data — basic logs (IP, browser, page views) used to detect abuse and improve the product.
Legal basis for processing
- Contract performance — processing account and access data is necessary to provide the Service you signed up for.
- Legitimate interests — usage logs and fraud prevention help us keep the Service secure and improve features.
- Legal obligation — billing records are retained to comply with tax and accounting laws.
- Consent — where we rely on cookies for analytics, we will request your consent before placing non-essential cookies.
Sharing your data
We share personal data with these recipients only:
- Paddle.com Market Limited — Merchant of Record for payments, tax calculation, refunds, and chargebacks.
- Supabase Inc. — database and authentication hosting.
- Email and hosting providers strictly necessary to deliver the Service.
Security measures
We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data, including: TLS/SSL encryption for data in transit; hashed passwords via bcrypt (managed by our authentication provider); access controls limiting staff access to production data; and regular security reviews of our hosting infrastructure.
Your rights
You may request access, correction, or deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing support@chainwise.course. Deleting your account removes your profile, subscription record, and trial state.
Data retention
We retain account and billing records for as long as your account is active and for up to 7 years after closure to comply with tax law.
